APPLE WALNUT PIE

APPLE WALNUT PIE
APPLE WALNUT PIE

INGREDIENTS :
3 cups sliced apples

2 cups white sugar
500 gm butter
3 eggs
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1.5 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnutsMETHOD:
Preheat the oven to175 degrees C. Butter and flour a 10inch tube pan. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time beating them well after each addition and set aside. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and the nutmeg. Add this to the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Stir in the vanilla essence, walnuts and the apples. Mix well and pour into a prepared pan.
Bake for approximately an hour. Leave aside and let it cool.

Slide a knife along the outer edges to release the bottom of the tube pan. Slide the knife along the bottom of the pan and the inner tube to release the cake. Can be served with ice cream as well
