HAPPY THANKSGIVING – remember there is always something to be Thankful for.
This Monday 9th October, is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.
The tradition started in 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year. My Canadian neighbors invited us over on Saturday for Thanksgiving; which in Canada is normally a family event! They traditionally serve different Pies for dessert, such as Pumpkin or Apple; I thought I would take over a Parsi Dar Ni Por.
This was my first attempt and I made three NOT the best shape but they were a HIT and the Canadian’s appreciated my Maple Leaf on the Pie!!
The image is as it came out of the oven but it settles down. I served it warm.
Thank you for inspiring me and here is the recipe <– click for recipe from Rita Jamshed Kapadia. I used puff pastry instead of Mann. I rolled the pastry quite thin so the result was amazing.
