Recipe

Ingredients

1 Karela

7 grape tomatoes or 2 regular tomatoes chopped

1 Onion

Red chilli, Turmeric, Dhana, Jeera and Salt to taste (approx 1/4 tsp)

3 tbsp. Olive Oil

Method

Wash and cut Karela into round slices.

Soak in salted water for 20 minutes and drain. (I did not do that since american karela are not so bitter)

Saute sliced onion in olive oil till translucent.

Add grape tomatoes and saute for 3 minutes.

Add the spices and saute for 1 minute.

Add the sliced karela and saute covered, for 15 more minutes or till done.

Enjoy! Karela is very good for lowering blood glucose levels.

Note: some people have allergies to karela so be careful.
