Iodized salt

Iodized salt is the best, and in many settings, the only dietary source of iodine. For a heart-healthy diet, we should consume salt in moderation.

Iodine is an element that is needed for the production of thyroid hormone. The body does not make iodine, so it is an essential part of your diet. Iodine is found in various foods. If you do not have enough iodine in your body, you cannot make enough thyroid hormone.

I read somewhere that Himalayan Salt is more pure. But it doesn’t supply iodide, a very necessary nutrient. This is why I walk past it every time we go to Costco.

We buy Tata Salt or Morton Iodized Table Salt and my Centrum Silver Multivitamin tablet  has 100% of my Recommended Daily Requirement of Iodine.
