Recipe for Channa Masala (Bhatura Channa)

Ingredients

1 Can Garbanzo Beans (Chick Peas from Costco)

5 tsp ginger garlic and green pepper paste

3 Tomatoes chopped fine

3 Red Onions chopped

Dry Spices (Powder)

5 tsp Curry Powder

5 tsp Garam Masala

5 tsp Chhole Masala

5 tsp Turmeric powder

5 tsp Cumin powder

5 tsp Dhana Coriander powder

Salt to taste

5 tsp Chat masala to taste

Black salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Annardana powder to taste

2 cups Fresh chopped coriander

5 tbsp Oil

Water as needed

Method

Fry the onions in hot oil till golden brown.

Add the ginger garlic and green pepper paste and saute for 2 minutes

Add 1 2/3 cups of fresh chopped coriander, saving the rest for garnish.

Add the Garbanzo Beans (Chick Peas) and saute.

Add all the dry spices and mix well.

Taste and add more if desired.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook on low heat till Chana get a nice brown color.

Add water if needed.

Check and stir often.

Remove from heat and sprinkle the fresh chopped coriander as garnish.

Serve hot with Steamed white Masoori Rice and Yogurt Raita.
